Union of Bulgarian tour guides

The Union of Bulgarian Tour Guides is the first organization, established on the territory of the country, aiming at unification, protection and development of the profession of tour guiding. Since 1990 the number of members increased up to 220, and the languages in which they provide services – up to 20, including English, Bulgarian, French  Greek, Danish, Hebrew, Spanish, Italian, German, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Turkish, Hungarian, Dutch, Czech and others.

One of the main activities of the Union of Bulgarian Tour Guides is organizing educational events for its members. The courses, lectures, conferences and seminars offer the unique opportunity to share specific knowledge, skills and interesting experiences in the field of tourist guiding, and contribute to the integration of each member of the organization.

The Union of Bulgarian Tour Guides eases the communication between the guides and their customers – tour operators and tour agents. This takes place through direct connection (using the database of the official site of the Union of Bulgarian Tour Guides) or indirect connection (with the help of a competent person, answering the phone calls and responsible for the e-mails of the organization).

Part of the members of the Union of Bulgarian Tour Guides, are professional interpreters to/from foreign languages as well. Hiring guides and interpreters from The Union of Bulgarian Tour Guides is possible by part-time and employment contracts, issue of invoices, both by the guides personally or through the organization.

The Union of Bulgarian Tour Guides continues to attract new, ambitious members, to offer opportunities for their upskilling as professional tour guides, thus easing the connection between the guides and the tourist agencies.
