Libera Estate

Libera Estate is a small boutique wine project named after the goddess Libera – the goddess of fertility and freedom. The beginning of Libera Estate dates back to 2013, when short series of experimental wines from different grape varieties were produced.

The vineyards of Libera Estate are located in the village of Hotovo, municipality of Sandanski. The village is located between Sandanski and Melnik in the Struma Valley as a wine-geographic area. The varietal diversity is extraordinary, as the largest massifs we grow the endemic varieties for the region – Broad mill vine, Melnik 55, Melnik 82, Keratsuda and Sandanski misket. The range of varieties is complemented by international (world) varieties such as Chardonnay, Merlot, Muscat, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. We have recently adopted and lovingly grow varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Vermentino, Assyrtico, Grenache and Mourvèdre, which we consider suitable for growing in the region.
