The Jolly Vintners
We are The Jolly Vintners, a close-knit group with a dream to make good wine. We know that wine has been handed down to us for generations to enjoy. And we are determined to do just that.
We grow grapes in a vineyard created from a bare meadow. The meadow is not just any meadow, but the meadow in the Rechka area near Vratsa – the place where Botev and his company received their last rest, food and wine before heading to eternity. The wine was from the fruits of a vineyard located in the same place, and the man – the host and winemaker there in those times, is the ancestor of the one cheerful winemaker. If you don’t believe it, go to memorial sign 42 on Botev Road and look around for the vineyard and the winemakers.
We grow our vineyard sustainably and with respect for nature – without irrigation, among grasses, herbs, sheep and insects.
Some of the varieties we planted are French, perhaps because of Botev’s love for the French Revolution, but not only. Grenache, Syrah, Cinzo and Mourvèdre are varieties from the banks of the Rhône. They are now also varieties from the banks of the Rechka.
