Svishtov Winery
Svishtov Winery is a modern winemaking enterprise that has full technological equipment for processing, stabilizing and bottling wines.
The grapes used in the production of wine come from our own vineyards with an area of over 4000 decares. The variety of our own grapes allows Svishtov Winery to produce a wide range of excellent wines.
The annual wine production is over 2 million liters. The winery’s impressive results are due to its rich technological base, which was modernized and expanded in 2014 with the opening of an entirely new bottling plant and a micro-wine sector for boutique wines.
The diversity of Svishtov Winery’s own vineyard estates allows the production of a rich product range of excellent red wines, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot varieties, which are aged in French oak barrels for a period of 12-18 months, and white wines from the Chardonnay, Muscat, Traminer and Sauvignon Blanc varieties.
The climate is moderately continental with over 2500 hours of sunshine and more than 90 sunny days throughout the year. In summer, the days are hot and dry with cooler nights, and the winter days are cool. The wind, which comes from the Danube River, gives a large difference between day and night temperatures. This allows the full development of the aromas and taste of the grapes. The soils are rocky and clayey.
